WELCOME

The Bay Area Locations website really started a long time ago. Way back at the end of the 1970s with McQuaid /Hoffman Location and Production Services.

Barbara McQuaid and Lance Hoffman founded one of the premiere service companies specializing in high budget television commercial production. Production Companies and Advertising Agencies from Los Angeles, New York, as well as foreign companies needed help when it was time to film in the San Francisco Bay Area. McQuaid and Hoffman made a good team. Barbara McQuaid was already an experienced line producer, production manager, and location manager. Lance Hoffman was kept busy providing location services such as scouting and posting for parking. McQuaid/Hoffman would scout the job, set up the production and stay on the job through live action photography.

Eventually Barbara and Lance branched out into feature films, movies for television, and television series, while continuing to service clients in commercials. For over twenty-five years we have worked in the bay area, and throughout the western states on the full array of projects. Since the mid 1980s we have maintained offices at the Saul Zaentz Film Center in Berkeley. We continue to relish the challenge of location production work and love to collaborate with others in the film industry.
